Play is to conform to the Rules of Golf as defined by the USGA. Rules and Decisions are available at the USGA website:
The following modifications to the USGA Rules shall apply:
1. Rule 3.2b.(2) shall be modified by adding the following paragraph:
All members of Grand Cru Golf Club will concede a putt that lies within 22 inches of the edge of the cup.
2. Rule 16.1 shall be modified by adding the following extra relief option:
When a player’s ball lies in the general area of the putting green cut to fairway height or less or when a player’s ball lies on the putting green and a sprinkler head close to the putting green is on the player’s line of play.
3. Rule 18.2b shall be modified by adding the following paragraph:
If a player hits a ball in plain sight into a reasonably playable area of the course and the ball cannot be found within 3 minutes, another ball may be dropped under penalty of 1 stroke as close as possible to the place where the original ball is believed to be located.
4. Greenies:
On all Par 3’s, the ball closest to the hole will be the first to attempt the Greenie. 2nd ball closest will be allowed to try to score the Greenie only if the first ball does not Par the hole. Each ball farther away will be allowed to attempt to score the greenie if the balls closer in do not par.
There are no concessions on putts for a Greenie. All putts must be made (even if within 22 inches of the edge of the cup) when a Greenie is on the line.
5. Allocation of handicap strokes:
An official USGA Handicap Index shall be used to calculate the player’s course handicap. No local handicap will be allowed. The maximum USGA Handicap Index is 54, (USGA Handicap System Manual section 3-4).
Divide the player's course handicap by 2 to obtain the number of strokes allocated to each nine hole score.
When a player’s course handicap is an odd number, round up the handicap on the front nine and round down the handicap on the back nine.
For example, if the player’s course handicap is 23 then the player will have 12 strokes allocated to the front nine and 11 strokes allocated to the back nine.
6. Any player who does not wear a Grand Cru Golf Club shirt during an official round will pay a $5.00 fine.
